Balancing Act

The leaves are falling, the air is cooling; it is most certainly that time of year when we give thanks.

We have so much to be thankful for.

Of course we are thankful for our wonderful home, healthy pets and the many fantastic things we have in our life. While it would be impossible to write a list here of everything we are thankful for, we would like to share some personal thoughts that come to mind during this time of year.

I am thankful to have the ability to choose. I am always happiest when I choose regardless of the result of any given choice. We choose who we work and play with. We choose how we spend our time and what is important in our lives. For this ability I am most thankful for it has led us along this path and allowed us to know all of you better.

There are times when it is easy to forget that we are not just working with businesses and estates. It is the people that we get to work with that makes it fun. Over the past year we have had so many opportunities to work with some great people. They have made business such a pleasure and for that we are very thankful.

Of course we are fortunate to have fantastic friends. From time to time we all get busy and lost in our work. Distracted, we don’t always talk as often as we should but it is always nice to know that there are people we can share our lives with and at the same time we are allowed to share in theirs.

Then there is family. With each passing year we both seem to cherish our family a little more. Perhaps this is because time becomes more precious. I like to think that it is because with each passing day we realize and better appreciate their inner beauty.

These are just a few of the things we are thankful for. So as we sit down at our holiday feast we will raise a toast to all that we are thankful for.
